Overview
Within the HighTide platform, you are able to add, view, edit, and delete notes that are attached to a record. This is a way to document and view information that you find valuable to have for you and all users of your organization. In addition, you can also attach files to notes, allowing you to add another level of documentation for managing your records.
Adding Notes Through the Global Notes View
From the Home view, you will navigate to the Notes Section of the HighTide platform. Here you will see a list of existing notes. From here you can then click on Add Note to open the side drawer and add your note. After adding a name and the content to the note, you will click Create to create the note.
Once you create your note, you will navigate to the note you just created to add any connections you would like as well as attach files if needed. To add a connection, you will click on Add Connection which will present you with a list of all Record Types. You will choose the Record Type you would like to connect to and then search for the Record to connect.
After adding the connection, the specific note you created will be connected to the record and you will be able to view it on that record.
The note will also now be available in the global view of Notes.
Adding Notes from a Specific Record
You are also able to add notes directly from a record. After navigating to the (Record Type) and selecting the record you would like to add a note to, you will navigate to the Note View.
After clicking on Add Note, the side drawer will appear where you can enter a name and the contents of the note. After adding relevant information, click Create.
After doing this, the Note will already be attached to the specific record you added it to and also available in the global Notes view.
Viewing Notes
You are able to navigate to notes that have already been created in two different ways in the HighTide platform. You have the ability to go to all Notes in the global view or you can navigate to a specific record and view notes if it is enabled for that record type.
By navigating to Notes you will have a list view of all notes that you can search. You can then detail into the note you wish to view to see additional information such as who is connected to the note as well as any files that are attached to the note.
Editing Notes
You are able to edit notes within the HighTide platform by navigating to the note you wish to edit. In addition you can also add connections, remove connections, add files, or remove files. If you are unable to edit please contact your system administrator to check your permissions.
To edit the content of the note you will click Edit Note. Once you do this, the side drawer will display, allowing you to add to or make any edits you wish. After you are done editing, you will click Save.
You can also add or remove connections when viewing the note. To add a connection you will click Add Connection. To remove a connection you will click on the ellipsis button and then click Delete.
You can add or remove files on a note when viewing a note. To add files you will click on Add Files and attach files. You can also remove files by clicking on the ellipsis button and clicking Delete.
Delete Notes
You have the ability to delete notes by navigating to the note and clicking Delete Note and then confirming you wish to delete the note. If you do not have the ability to delete a note please contact your system administrator to check your permission level.
